Ten little Indians by Sherman Alexie
Book Number:RC 58463
2 sound cassettes
Nine stories about modern day Native Americans. In "Do You Know Where I Am?"
college sweethearts rescue and return a stranded cat to its owners--an act
that unexpectedly defines their future relationship. "Search Engine" depicts
a student looking for a fellow native who disappeared thirty years earlier
after winning a Pulitzer prize for poetry. Some descriptions of sex and some
strong language. 2003
My husband Scott was listening to National Public Radio on a Sunday evening
and he heard one of Sherman Alexie's stories being read on "Selected
Shorts", a program that focuses on short stories. He was so impressed that
he told me about it and encouraged me to find anything written by this
author. I did find the story in this collection. All of these stories are
great. All are written about and from the Spokane Indians point of view.
A pleasant and thought provoking read. I give it a 4 out of 5. I'd
definitely read more of Alexie's work.
Happy Reading,
Carla/TexasRed
